Marissa McDowell is a film producer, writer and director for Black & White Films.  She has produced thirteen short documentaries for SBS, NITV Our Stories, Our Way and was recently selected to be a part of the Indigenous Producers Initiative with Screen Australia.

She has also produced, directed and written a number of short films and documentaries and was a finalist for the Canberra Short Film Festival for a documentary she produced on the Canberra Glassworks which was screened at Dendy Cinema and displayed at the Festival of Pacific Arts.

She is currently working towards developing a multiplatform digital adult comedy series, Ambos, writing a family feature film a dreamtime thriller feature and a dreamtime short film that will include the use of her Wiradjuri language.

Marissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honour, Bachelor of Media Arts and Production at the University of Canberra in 2013 and previously received her Advanced Diploma in Media Art and Production from the Canberra Institute of Technology.
