ANITA ONDINE

Anita Ondine is a writer/director/producer who is best known for her work in the digital/transmedia/multiplatform space where she embraces a range of innovative approaches to storytelling.

Anita has overseen the concepting and development of over a dozen original transmedia properties, including Lance Weiler’s groundbreaking Pandemic 1.0 which was the first fully transmedia story experience to debut at the Sundance Film Festival and produced the companion short film “Pandemic 41.410806, -75.654259,” which premiered in competition at Sundance and was distributed via a US cable network reaching 28 million homes. Anita has also worked with several major broadcasters in Europe, Asia and the United States to develop their own transmedia programs.

Now focused on integrating emergent technology and audience engagement techniques with mainstream media properties, Anita is developing several projects aimed at the film and television markets that are designed to incorporate transmedia from the outset.

Anita is currently in post production on her debut feature documentary, in collaboration with MONA (Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art), which includes an array of transmedia story extensions including music, interactive video and audience participation. Other projects in development utilise VR (virtual reality), online companions, real-world installations and gameplay. Anita also co-produced a dark comedy feature filmed in Los Angeles, with Australian director Philip Alderton.

Anita has extensive experience in intellectual property/technology law, finance, strategy and risk management, having worked in the fields of law and finance for over a decade, including six years working in London at Lehman Brothers, the global investment bank, where she held the title of Senior Vice President.

Anita loves sharing her knowledge of cutting edge storytelling techniques and co-founded the popular Transmedia Next workshop series to bring together the brightest minds in both the creation and commissioning of digital content. Anita has lead workshops and given talks in cities the world over, including London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Athens, Tel Aviv, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and many more.

Anita has served as a Board Member at Screen Tasmania since 2013, where she is focused on the digital sector. Anita has also consulted for the Canada Media Fund on their Experimental Stream for innovation funding and has been a Mentor at the Hive Lab, championing cross-cultural collaboration between artists from a diverse range of disciplines.

Anita has participated in the Berlinale Talents programme at the Berlin Film Festival and the Cannes Producers Network which runs in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival. Anita graduated with First Class Honours in Law and holds a BA in Political Science from ANU.
