HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION, ACTF

Bernadette O’Mahony is the Head of Development and Production at the Australian Children’s Television Foundation overseeing the Foundation’s development, production and international distribution activities. She is a highly experienced Producer and Executive Producer of award winning Australian children’s television.

Bernadette has worked in the film and television industry since the 1980s on a wide range of productions including documentary, current affairs TV, prime time drama, feature films and children’s film and television.

Since joining the ACTF, Bernadette has produced series including Crash Zone, Legacy of the Silver Shadow and Round the Twist.   She Produced and Executive Produced the multi award winning children’s series Mortified, and most recently the live action series The Worst Year of My Life, Again!

Bernadette has an extensive list of Executive Producer credits including series such as Lockie Leonard, Dance Academy, Little Lunch and Ready For This, the historical drama My Place, sketch comedy series You’re Skitting Me, and wildlife/adventure series Bushwhacked!, as well as the family feature film Paper Planes and the much anticipated Dance Academy – The Comeback which is due out in 2017.

ACTF provides development and production funding and support for Australian children’s film and television projects. We look for projects that are original and have a distinctively Australian voice, that will appeal to the target demographic, and resonate with a local audience, whilst also having appeal to the international market.
