PRODUCER / DIRECTOR / WRITER - AU

Briege Whitehead is a Producer, Director and Writer based in Perth, Western Australia. She has recently established her own production company that is currently in development for a 12-part factual series to be distributed on the global market.

Since graduating with her Masters Degree from the WA Screen Academy in 2014, Briege has been working at Showrunner Productions as a Producer, Writer and Camera Operator on their international factual TV series, including the ’72’ Series; ‘72 Dangerous Places to Live’ and ‘72 Cutest Animals’. Broadcasters for the hit format include National Geographic International, Discovery, MTG and Netflix Global and have been seen by over 120 million viewers in more than 80 countries.

Her work as Director has continued in short dramas, interactive dramas and corporates, including clients such as RAC and City of Perth and most notably the ‘Your Call’ campaign; directing the first two projects and earning nominations in the Atom Awards and WA Screen Awards for best interactive online drama ‘#EmilyWasted’.  Her success in these projects has continued into working as digital production manager on the SBS series ‘Top Knot Detective’, specialising in interactive multiplatform design and direction.

Briege completed a 6-month internship at a local production company in Toronto, Canada, whilst studying at Ryerson University, was the 2014 Advance Global Australian Awards Mentee and 2015 Golden Key International Society Recipient for her Master’s Degree.

Briege will be working as a Producer on three new factual series out of Perth this year, and is in development for several new interactive projects of her own.

She is currently in pre-production for her short film ‘Crumbs’ which has recently received funding through FTI’s OOMPF with filming due to commence mid June.
