David Taylor started his television career at the Seven Network before working with various independent production companies. Prior to launching Playmaker in 2009, he and the other Playmaker principal David Maher headed Fox’s Australian TV production arm, Fox Television Studios Australia. There they produced a diverse range of programming including drama series, telemovies, sitcoms and international unscripted formats. Playmaker has produced over 100 hours of primetime drama including the Logie Award winning House Husbands and Love Child for the NINE Network, the AACTA and AWGIE Award winning political thriller The Code for the ABC, The Wrong Girl for TEN, and the Emmy nominated SLiDE for Foxtel. Playmaker has been awarded the Media Super Production Business of the Year at the Screen Producers Australia Awards, and now works with Sony to develop and produce content for both the local and international markets.
