CO-HEAD OF DRAMA, NINE NETWORK

Jo Rooney was appointed Co-Head of Drama for the Nine Network in September 2011, a position she jointly holds with Andy Ryan.

As Executive Producer she has been involved in the development, production and commissioning of the successful series Love Child (series 1-3), House Husband (Series 1-5), Doctor Doctor , Hyde & Seek, House of Hancock, Here Come the Habibs, HOWZAT! Kerry Packer’s War, Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story, Underbelly: Squizzy, Underbelly: Badness, Fat Tony & Co, the telemovies Beaconsfield and The Great Mint Swindle.  

In 2015, Rooney was Executive Producer for the STAN original drama series Wolf Creek and No Activity.

With Andy Ryan Jo is Head of Children’s Drama at Nine and has commissioned over 300 hundred hours of ‘c’ drama during her time at Nine.

Rooney was formerly Nine Drama Executive, involved in ground-breaking projects such as the Underbelly series, Sea Patrol, Rescue Special Ops, The Strip, and the telemovies Wicked Love, Blood Brothers and Underbelly: Files.
