Steve is an academic, screenwriter & script developer, also known for his work as a director and actor.

He has written for television and film companies including ABC, Southern Star, Fox, Harbourside Pictures, 403 Productions, Enjoy Entertainment, McElroy & McElroy, Palm Beach Pictures and Fremantle Media. His work has been nominated for and won awards, including AFIs, AWGIEs and Logies. Most recently, he was story consultant and script editor on the innovative VR project VRNoir, produced by StartVR and AFTRS.

Steve has also worked as a script assessor, consultant and project officer for Screen Australia, Screen NSW, Screen Tasmania and independently on film, television and interactive media projects.

His research explores the cognitive neuroscience underpinning viewer engagement with screen narrative. He is currently setting up a cutting edge biometric audience engagement research lab at AFTRS
