Bec Brown is the Managing Director of The Comms Department.

Launching in 2012 and quickly growing an outstanding team of experienced PR professionals and an established client base, Bec and The Comms Department team build profiles and brands through traditional media, social media, corporate communications, and crisis management.

With a focus on media, entertainment, travel and healthy lifestyle brands, long-term entertainment clients include Australian Radio Network’s KIIS, Pure Gold, The Edge and iHeartRadio brands, The Wiggles, and projects with Universal Music, ABC Music, Sony Music, and TEG Dainty for touring artists like Katy Perry.

Bec’s previous communications experience included half a decade at the world’s largest record company, Universal Music, and an Account Executive role at a boutique Sydney PR agency, working on financial clients, beauty and lifestyle brands.

While at Universal Music Australia, Bec was responsible for managing the national publicity and artist relations for a roster of diverse artists such as Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton, Chris Isaak, Sting, Annie Lennox, Diana Krall, Andre Rieu, and Andrea Bocelli and the publicity for catalogue albums by The Rolling Stones, U2, INXS, Queen, The Who, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and many more.

And for six years before this, working as a stage performer and session musician in Australia and Europe gave Bec insight and understanding of the entertainment industry and the life of creatives which proves incredibly valuable in the corporate arena.

Bec’s professional experience is also backed by study – a Graduate Diploma in Media and Communications and a Bachelor of Music.
