COAL STOVE PICTURES

Scottnes Smith is a producer and director whose company, Coal Stove pictures is a recipient of 2016 National Film and Video Foundation slate funding until 2019. His most notable work is directing and co-producing “Hear Me Move”. Scottnes has directed drama documentary series and factual content on all the major broadcasters in South Africa. As a producer Scottnes interest in the international market began with his studies at Arcada Polytechnik in Finland, collaborations with the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, and Masters programme at the Victorian College of the Arts.  In 2016 Scottnes produced “There’s a Bluebird in my Heart” which one a ADG Award in the student category (for S Trevorrow). Scottnes heads up the International Division of a Coal Stove pictures.

Coal Stove is interested in receiving pitches for co-productions with South Africa. Scottnes will be sitting on the panel discussing indigenous content at SCREEN FOREVER 2017.
