NICHOLAS COLE

COLE MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT LAW

After completing degrees in philosophy and law, Nicholas Cole began working in the film & TV. Initially as an editor on films such as Strictly Ballroom & Green Card, then as a director on Water Rats. In 2002 he returned to law, worked for the Film Finance Corporation and then joined DLA Piper. In 2009, he produced Last Ride, Glendyn Ivin’s debut film. In 2013, Nick established Cole Media & Entertainment Law so he could mix his law practice with his producing activities.  Nick recently acted as Production Counsel on Hacksaw Ridge (the Oscar nominated film by Mel Gibson) and on The Water Diviner (Russell Crowe’s directorial debut film).  He is also developing a slate of projects for production including Bad Angel, Cracks in the Pavement and Starville. After working a long career in media, Nick has extensive skills and provides a unique combination of creativity and legal knowledge.
