Tanya Orman, a proud Birri and Guugu Yimidhirr woman from Central and North Queensland, has led NITV as Channel Manager since it joined SBS in 2012. With over a decade of media experience, Tanya has previously held positions as a journalist and producer for ABC and SBS and a number of different roles at NITV since 2007. Tanya directs the overall management and programming of NITV through diverse and innovative multiplatform content, including news and current affairs, Jarjums and supporting the documentaries of award winning Indigenous filmmakers. Tanya is the Chair of MediaRing, leading the media industry in reconciliation, a member and former Chair of World Indigenous Television Broadcasters Network (WITBN) and also a member of the AFL Indigenous Advisory Group.

Tanya and Mary-Ellen are looking for bold, brave storytelling from Indigenous filmmakers and Indigenous production companies. NITV is interested in pitches from emerging and established Indigenous filmmakers working in documentary, factual entertainment, online and children’s programming.
